Winter Classic: Canadiens top Bruins 5-1
When they saw him coming, the crowd gave him a loud ovation.

The Boston Bruins (20-13-4) fell 5-1 to the (22-15-3) Montreal Canadians on Friday afternoon in the 2016 NHL Winter Classic at Gillette Stadium.
But this group is not comprised of your typical Bruins fans. Without them, the B’s looks discombobulated and struggled to maintain consistent pressure in the Canadiens’ end.
Mike Condon provided a goaltending performance worthy of injured teammate Carey Price.
Yesterday, Subban told reporters that, because outdoor games often don’t have the best ice and tend to be chippy, Friday’s contest would be “right up [Gallagher’s] alley”. “Had a lot of friends and family here tonight”.
As rivalries go, few are better than the Canadiens against the Bruins.
Condon’s father, Ted, is a MA police sergeant and used to help the Patriots on security detail. I think everyone did that.
“Gallagher’s presence puts everyone in the position they’re supposed to be in”, said Desharnais. See you in the chat! It’s a special day.
Now he has given Bruins fans bad memories of sitting in the stadium and watching MA beat them in a historic game.
“I’m just so excited for him”, said Martin. The loss prevented the Bruins from being able to take over first place in the Atlantic Division. They allowed an early second-period goal and were down 3-0 in the third period when they finally scored on a Matt Beleskey tip.
The B’s will get humbled once again, just like the Winter Classic, if they’re not ready to play.
Canadiens netminder Mike Condon, a MA native, also featured Brady and the Patriots on his mask. I wish I could have played hockey.
During the game, Condon was focused on the task at hand and wasn’t paying any attention to his surroundings. We just didn’t do a good job of responding.
“I couldn’t get enough”, said Gedman, who is from the suburb of Framingham and grew up rooting for the Patriots and other Boston teams. “Right now it’s just been insane after the game”.
The excitement of the big stage may have got to Boston. But when the entire 2013-14 season was canceled by the owners’ lockout, the league came back the following year with a three-game “Stadium Series” along with another Heritage Classic game – in addition to the traditional January 1 Winter Classic.
“Every win is huge”, he said. “I just think it was a great team effort”.
“I think everyone’s really disappointed, really frustrated with the way we showed up today”.
The Winter Classic also marked the return of Montreal forward Gallagher after a 17-game absence because of two broken fingers he suffered while blocking a shot.
Boston won the only game between the two this year so far. Montreal’s star pest potted a goal and an assist in his comeback, and was an effective cog in an offense that had mustered more than two goals just once during its recent eight-game struggles. We managed the puck.
“We didn’t just want to participate in the Winter Classic, we wanted to win the Winter Classic”, said coach Michel Therrien.

Condon was arguably Montreal’s top performer, but all the players on the entire roster did their part in what was a complete team win. Ted admitted he said some prayers Thursday night. Fighting good, dancing bad, it says so on your ticket.
