“Pills were provided. Wine was provided”.
Her reaction to Wednesday’s news: “I think I can speak for all of us and say we are thrilled”, she told CNN. Steele’s television ads and public statements were critical of his opponent for passing on the Cosby case.
“Given the serious nature of the allegations, I can’t imagine him getting anything less [than three years]”, said Michael Skinner, a former assistant district attorney in a nearby Pennsylvania town. We have the utmost confidence in Mr. Steele, Ms. Feden and their team, who have impressed us with their professionalism.
Bill Cosby is going blind, which is why he needed help walking into court on Wednesday, according to his attorney, who has vowed to mount a vigorous defense for her client.
He is charged with drugging and sexually assaulting the woman in 2004 inside his home near Philadelphia. “Rather, reopening this case was our duty as law enforcement officers”, Steele said in announcing the charges. Cosby is accused of penetrating her with his fingers while she was unable to move or protest.
Patricia Steuer, another of the accusers, said that when she heard the news of Cosby’s arrest “I just started to cry, it was very emotional to me”.
In the case of Cosby, prosecutors may indeed be able to present allegations that the comedian had a common way of operating.
“There is no consent when you have been drugged”, Cammarata said.
For decades, Valentino said, she had felt powerless as Cosby’s career reached great heights, while she and other women kept a dark secret inside. Cosby, through his lawyers, has regularly denied the accusations.
A key question if the case goes to trial is whether the judge will allow supporting testimony from other accusers to show similar “bad acts”, even though it is too late to bring charges in most if not all of those instances.

Steele, a deputy DA who will take office as DA in January, defeated Castor in the election after a campaign in which he ran ads against Castor criticizing him as not caring about victims because of his decade-old decisions in the Cosby-Constand case.
