McCaffrey played an equally pivotal role in the Cardinal’s next series when he gained all but one of Stanford’s 65 yards on a drive that moved the ball from the Cardinal 26-yard line to the Iowa 8.

That 10 yards a pop average doesn’t feel exaggerated by 1-2 big runs (although he did bust some big gains on the Iowa defense, too) – it really did feel like every time he got the ball, he simply teleported at least 10 yards down the field, leaving a trail of Iowa defenders juked out of their socks in his wake.
“I’m someone who believes in having motivation at all times, win or lose”, he said.

And he did it for a Stanford team that played one of the toughest schedules in the country while playing only FBS opponents.
