Cosby, 78, who posted a $1 million bond, has another court hearing on January 14.

Constand’s attorney released a statement Wednesday morning, saying: “On behalf of our client, Andrea Constand we wish to express our appreciation to the Montgomery County District Attorney’s Office, the County Detectives and the Cheltenham Police Department for the consideration and courtesy they have shown Andrea during this hard time”.
Throughout, fleets of tweets poured onto Twitter from journalists who were there and observers watching it on TV and commenting.
Bill Cosby could spend a decade in jail following his arrest for alleged sexual assault. She says she was “frozen” and “paralyzed”.
He recounted in testimony he gave in March 2006 at the Rittenhouse Hotel in Philadelphia that the blue pills were actually Benadryl, which he said he thought “might help take some of the stress and tension away”. “His current health status doesn’t have anything to do with the defense for this unsubstantiated charge”, she said.
Cosby’s attorney has said the charge is unjustified and predicted her client will be exonerated. Although a judge originally dismissed the case in 2005, the charges filed Wednesday were the result of new evidence that came forth in July. The statute of limitations is due to expire at the end of January.
Constand is one of 50 women who have come forward accusing Cosby of sexual misconduct. They are the first criminal charges brought against the comedian out of the torrent of allegations that destroyed his good-guy image as America’s Dad.
Ms Constand, who now works as a massage therapist in her native Canada, is ready to face Cosby in court, her attorney Dolores Troiani said. Moreover, virtually all of their accusers said Cosby drugged them.
Cosby also turned over his passport to the court and did not enter a plea. “She does not say to me, ‘Don’t ever do that again.’ She doesn’t walk out with an attitude of a huff, because I think that I’m a pretty decent reader of people and their emotions in these romantic sexual things, whatever you want to call them”.
But in his deposition, Cosby consistently characterized the meeting as a consensual encounter. “It brings back to front and square the issue of his own behavior”.
The famed comedian has maintained his innocence since he was accused by former Temple University employee Andrea Constand of sexual assault more than 10 years ago. But police in Los Angeles have been investigating more recent allegations by another accuser, Chloe Goins, who says Cosby drugged and sexually assaulted her at the Playboy Mansion in 2008, when she was 18.
Most of the other cases against the star occurred too long ago to prosecute, although seven alleged victims have jointly filed suit against him. “It’s justice. It’s just karma”.

“How any prosecutor in their right mind could say, ‘I don’t think it’s worth it, ‘ it’s just so silly, it’s embarrassing, it’s offensive to women, and I think any prosecutor running for office facing those kinds of numbers would have been foolish not to say, ‘Of course I’m going to file charges, ‘” Murphy said.
