Windows 10’s 2015 Performance: Going in the Right Direction
Windows 10 was released to the public back in July, meaning the operating system has averaged around 40 million new installs a month. Five months after its release, Windows 10 still hasn’t passed 10 percent market share, according to the latest figures from Net Applications.

Windows 10 accounted for 10.9% of all Windows devices in December, a higher number than its raw user share number because Windows powered 91.3%, not 100%, of all systems tallied by Net Applications.
The Windows 10 OS was launched by Microsoft in July 2015.
Back in October, it was reported that Windows 10 had surpassed the 110 million installs milestone and now, it seems that the company has closed out the year with just over 200 million installs.
Microsoft which remains the market leader in the Operating systems space for Desktop and Laptops has revealed figures of the market share of its Windows OS.
According to data published by metrics vendor Net Applications, Windows 10 is now installed on 164 million PCs globally. Knocking Windows XP down the ranking would be a symbolic victory for the company. These stats show Windows 10 and Windows 8 traffic at pretty much the same level throughout most of December 2015, but right now Windows 10 traffic appears to be increasing.
The report further adds that Windows 10’s user base did rise last month, though was slightly less than the growth seen in the previous month. Windows 7 had accumulated a 11.2% share of all Windows PCs through its fifth full month, slightly more than Windows 10’s 10.9% in December.

As you can see from the graph below, StatCounter places Windows 10 at just below 12% market share, with Windows 8 sitting just a bit above that same percentage. But soon after that, the growth slowed down and fewer people made a decision to give the new OS a try. Windows Vista is on 1.62 percent of PCs. This means that users who have been holding off due to the somewhat crippled design of Windows 8.x are finally considering the upgrade as a worthwhile one, especially after the November Update, which has smoothed out some -but not all- of Windows 10’s rough edges. Windows 7 has a market share of 56% (precisely 55.68 %).
