Israelis Killed, 7 Injured in Tel Aviv Shooting
The gunman who carried out Friday’s shooting attack in central Tel Aviv is believed to be hiding, according to the most recent security estimates Saturday morning. With the suspect still at large, the police declined to offer a motive.

He then pulled a machine pistol from his backpack and stepped onto the pavement, shooting wildly. “Some of the wounded were inside the pub and others lying in the street”. The shooting happened outside the Simta pub, according to an address provided by police. “Israelis are right to be anxious both on their borders and inside the country”, he said. “All injured taken to Tel Aviv hospitals”, police spokesman Micky Rosenfeld wrote on Twitter.
A witness told the Israeli newspaper that she was at the bar-cafe, sitting with friends and complaining about a sandwich that was taking too long to arrive, when she heard a gunshot and a man yelling “Get down!” Given the huge ethnic tensions in Israel, it’s going to be hard to convince the public that any Arab gunman is acting as anything but part of an organized intifada.
CCTV footage from a nearby convenience store showed the presumed attacker calmly buying snacks of fruit and nuts before leaving and opening fire.
Four victims remained in serious condition Friday afternoon while three were in moderate condition and an eighth slightly injured, the Jerusalem Post, Israel’s leading English newspaper, reported.
Mr Pinto said the pub had opened “just a few months ago”. “We dropped to the floor and I remember the smile on his face”.

“I have a beauty salon here and I hid myself under the bar”, said one woman. On the Israeli side, 21 people have died, mostly in stabbings, shootings and car-ramming attacks.
