Pellegrini: Never mind points, feel position
Manuel Pellegrini is not expecting any new signings at Manchester City in January despite Vincent Kompany’s ongoing injury.

City sit third in the table halfway through the season, trailing leading duo Arsenal and Leicester City by three points.
Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini has confirmed that the club is not really looking to bring in any new faces during the transfer window, explaining that he already feels well equipped with the squad now at his disposal.
“Yes of course we are in a good position”. We are in a strong position in the Premier League so hopefully 2016 will be better. “But I am sure in the second part of the season we are going to see the real Sergio without injuries”.
Quique Sanchez Flores, Watford: “In the dressing room it is no surprise to us when we win consecutive matches so that shows the mentality of the team changes a lot”.
Pellegrini insists that while he is concerned with City’s away record, he is not unhappy with the level of performances in their last two games against Leicester City and Arsenal.
The Blues have not chalked up a win on their travels since the last-gasp triumph at Crystal Palace on September 12, with defeats at Tottenham, Stoke and Arsenal, along with goalless draws at United, Aston Villa and Leicester.
The first meeting between the two sides ended 2-0 to Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium thanks to goals from Fernandinho and Raheem Sterling.
“It’s more interesting with six or seven teams involved in the title than when you have just one team that is eight or nine points in front of the other teams”.
“We came for three points, had more possession, more attempts, did more things to win the game”, said Pellegrini. Kasper Schmeichel did well and made a few good saves, but we maybe should have done better with the chances we had.
Leicester City finished a memorable 2015 with a home draw against Manchester City. “I’m not happy but not disappointed also because we played well”.

After a loss at Liverpool on Saturday, Leicester’s title credentials were questioned by some, especially as they battled relegation all of last season. But now just three points behind the leaders I think it’s an expected position.
