Arsene Wenger admits he wants to sign two players in
Wenger has been reluctant to add new faces to his squad mid-season in previous years, but recently admitted that Arsenal would be busy in the market over the next month.

But Mohamed Elneny will not be unveiled as Arsene Wenger’s first signing of the January transfer window, at least not yet.
The Gunners are being heavily linked with a move for Basel midfielder Mohamed Elneny, with some reports suggesting a medical has already been passed, although he will still have to get a work permit.
Elneny has played a part in most of Egypt’s games over the past couple of seasons and should have been eligible for a permit on merit, but Egypt have fallen out of the top 50 in the Federation Internationale de Football Association rankings which makes a player of that nationality ineligible for direct permission.
Should the move go through, he is set to be Arsenal’s only signing in the January transfer window.
Arsenal strengthened their advantage with an at times nervy 1-0 victory over struggling Newcastle, Laurent Koscielny converting midway through the second half to put his side two points clear of second placed Leicester City.

The Gunners midfield has been reduced to the barest with several injuries to the players in the centre of the pitch as about 6 of the Gunners midfield players are out injured and this might end up hurting the team’s chances at getting the long-awaited English Premier League title as the earliest of these players might be returning in February and this will be awful news for Arsenal fans.
