Lotto jackpot rolls over to record £46.5 million
Edwina and David Nylan thought they had won a £35 million lottery jackpot in December, only to be told later that they had actually lost out on it because of a glitch in the Lotto mobile app, according to various news websites.

“We’ve spent years paying out for the lottery and this money could have changed our lives”.
The couple said they used a cell phone app to purchase a ticket on December 23, SWNS reported.
You can choose how many lines to play and play up to 7 lines of numbers on each play slip and buy up to 10 play slips at a time.
Mrs Nylan, 55, said: “I am gutted, but what can we do?”
Just think what you could do with that amount of cash!
A further 178,050 players matched three numbers to win £25 each and 1,810,415 players matched two numbers to win a free lotto lucky dip.
Work colleagues Mark Gardiner and Paul Maddison from Hastings, East Sussex, shared £22.5 million in 1996. There will be one guaranteed raffle millionaire as well as 20 raffle winners of £20,000.
UK Lotto players have £46.5 million to play for on Saturday 2nd January, following 13 draws without a victor.
Their new-found wealth would put them in a similar financial league to some of the country’s richest celebrities, including singer Adele, who is worth around £50 million, and tennis star Andy Murray, who has about £48 million.
To scoop a share of it, ticket-holders must match all six of the main numbers.
