In what has become a routine strategy in the days leading up to the Consumer Electronics Show (CES), LG has unveiled details on its premium LED TV lineup for 2016, just days before its official January 5 press conference. LG had already informed the media about this TV back in April 2015 while upsetting Apple by leaking information about its upcoming 8K iMac. If its sound you are anxious about then fret not as LG has taken help from Harman/Kardon on this one. These models also feature a “True Black” panel and Contrast Maximizer, which will create a better contrast for your TV and will cut glare.
Beyond the fundamental specification of having higher display resolution than the 4K standard of 3840 x 2160, these new Super UHD TVs go beyond what viewers can get from 4K Ultra HD televisions through their features. The company claims the new sets will offer the best picture quality it can wring out of LED LCD TV technology. True Black Panel just like Nokia ClearBlack technology reduces reflections on the screen and improves visual image quality. The display also features Contrast Maximizer, said to deliver more depth and contrast by separating objects from their backgrounds.
The 65-inch UH9500 and the 86-inch UH9550 feature for the first time LG’s new HDR Plus technology.
HDR-Plus combines LG’s so-called Color Prime Plus – which uses a new filter to try and replicate cinema-quality color – with the company’s Ultra Luminance technology for an improved contrast ratio.
LG will unveil four series of the Super HD line.
With the UH9500, LG will debut a new design concept, which includes an ultra-thin 6.6mm screen depth and near-invisible bezels. HDR boosts a TV’s contrast ratio and color accuracy for a richer and more realistic look.
The 2016 UHD TV lineup also comes with the newest generation of LG’s acclaimed webOS Smart TV platform. webOS 3.0 adds advanced new features to make finding and switching between LG’s expanded content options including broadcast TV, streaming services and external devices simple and fast.* With enhanced mobile connectivity, remote features and more content options including those offering streaming HDR, LG webOS 3.0 makes it even simpler and more fun than ever for users to find and enjoy the content they want to watch.
