Ohio State quarterback Jones to leave early for NFL
Ohio State quarterback Cardale Jones, center, and teammates disembark after arriving at an airport in Phoenix on Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015. It’s tough to say because while the physical tools are intriguing, the mental side of his game is a work in progress and he hasn’t shown ideal development for a 23-year-old prospect. After helping the Buckeyes win the national championship last season, he consulted the NFL’s underclass advisory committee and eventually held a press conference to announce he would return to school. Coach Urban Meyer picked Jones to start this season after a camp competition against Barrett, but Meyer benched Jones in favor of Barrett in October, and Jones has remained a backup for the rest of the season.

Jones lost his starting job midway through the season to J.T. Barrett and called it a challenging season.
Houston and Ohio State have both been mentioned to me by various sources and Allen was spotted at one of Ohio State’s practices while the Buckeyes were practicing in Allen’s home state of Arizona leading up to the Fiesta Bowl.
Jones has thrown for 1,460 yards, eight touchdowns and five interceptions while completing 62.5 percent of his passes in 2015.
He made it more concrete on Wednesday, telling reporters he will skip his senior season and declare for the National Football League draft.
