Ole Miss exploded on a 34-3 run to close the first half, mostly thanks to quarterback Chad Kelly and superstar receiver Laquan Treadwell.

The Cowboys never had a chance.
70 Years since Oklahoma State previously played in the Sugar Bowl.
The most dynamic defensive player on either of these teams won’t dress out: Ole Miss DL Robert Nkemdiche is suspended.
Story of the game: It was over early, and Ole Miss had plenty of fun along the way.
Things fell apart quickly after OSU opened things up with a field goal to go up 3-0.
That was the end of the good news for the Cowboys, who were playing in the Sugar Bowl for the first time since 1946. “We practiced like it, and we played like it”, said Engram, who had six catches for 96 yards. Chad Kelly threw four touchdown passes, including a trio of highlight-reel touchdowns to Laquon Treadwell, Laremy Tunsil ran for a short touchdown on a throwback screen and the Rebel defense shut down Oklahoma State’s attack, which had been high-scoring all season.
Both of Ole Miss’ stars won’t admit it now. “S-E-C!” chant started in the Superdome. “We felt comfortable with the lead we had at that moment and really thought that could be somewhat of a dagger to end the first half”. Treadwell has had six games over 100 yards this season and he has caught 7 passes or more in five games.
Oklahoma State is the underdog in this game, partly because it only has one quality win.
How they got here: The Cowboys crashed down the stretch behind a defense that surrendered 103 points in November losses to Baylor (45-35) and Oklahoma (58-23).
On Thursday, he attended Alabama’s victory against Michigan State in the College Football Playoff at the Cotton Bowl. The Rebels’ 34 first-half points tied for the most in the Sugar Bowl’s 82-year history.
McCaffrey broke the all-purpose yardage record set by Wisconsin’s Jared Abbrederis in 2012. Kelly passed the 4,000-yard mark for the season (4,042), finishing with 31 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. McCaffrey also became the first player ever to rack up more than 100 yards rushing and 100 yards receiving in a Rose Bowl.
Punter Zach Sinor (@ZachSinor29): “Win or lose I’m still so glad I could be on this team”.
NEW ORLEANS (AP) Mississippi learned last season it’s a huge honor and lots of fun to play in one of the major bowl games. He turned into the show stopper in the second, leaving Notre Dame defenders flailing as he raced for a 47-yard score. “We’re looking forward to getting back to work after enjoying this one a little bit”. The Sugar Bowl victor also threw a surprise into the mix that helped clinch the victory. If you like explosive offenses, this is the game for you. The three leading running backs – Jaylen Walton, Akeem Judd and Jordan Wilkins – average 5.2 yards per rush combined. Rudolph may not play because of a foot injury. The Rebels beat the Cowboys 554-366 in total yards on Friday.
Easily the highlight of Ole Miss destroying an overmatched Oklahoma State team Friday night was the TD run by 6-7, 305 lb Rebel Offensive Tackle Laremy Tunsil. Rudolph ranks 13th in the nation with 3,591 passing yards. They finished with at least nine wins for the first time since 2007.
Meanwhile, Oklahoma State finished 10-3 after starting the year 10-0.

Dobbs completed 14 of 25 passes. In the Cowboys’ game at West Virginia, quarterback J.W. Walsh found a seam and scored a game-winning touchdown on fourth down in an overtime thriller.
