A big thrill for me was hearing her tell me she enjoyed my version of “Inseparable” and more recently I covered “LaCosta” so long before we were friends I was a fan. Natalie Cole took no prisoners in the studio or on stage. I pray that precious memories of her, filled with joy and laughter soon overshadow the pain of their loss.

The family’s statement said Cole died at Cedar Sinai Hospital in Los Angeles from “ongoing health issues”. In 1976, Cole performed a short self-titled concert special at Broadway’s Winter Garden Theater from November 23-November 28. And then she herself became this star in the 1970s, but in R&B.
