Will Oregon’s Royce Freeman dominate TCU in tonight’s Alamo Bowl?
Not any longer. OR wins. During the three and a half regular season games Adams sat out due to injury this year, the Ducks played downright poor football. We’ll probably never know what Patterson said to his players while making that wardrobe adjustment, but whatever it was he should bottle it and sell it at every coaches clinic and convention from coast to coast. It’s now unlikely any of us will ever forget this Alamo. The Oregon defense is going to have to find a way to get off the field and allow their offense to do its thing as many times as possible.

Wide receiver Darren Carrington had seven catches for 107 yards and a touchdown for the Ducks. OR was cooking with fire, and the Frogs were powerless to stop it.
The Ducks have a 376-142 edge in total yardage and have an 18-5 edge in first downs.
– Brian Floyd (@BrianMFloyd) January 3, 2016Here come the Horned Frogs? But it was a different TCU in the second half, partly because Adams left the game injured. He was knocked out of the game after a wicked collision with former Wagner standout Derrick Kindred with 4:57 left in the first half. He returned to the sideline in the second half in street clothes, meaning Lockie would finish the game at QB.
TCU got blanked in the first half, trailing OR, 31-0. The Alamodome says that means a $30 million economic impact for San Antonio, and some of that money is being spent ahead of the game by fans at sports bars like The Ticket.
OR was guided to its big early lead early by quarterback Vernon Adams Jr., who passed for 197 yards, scrambled out of several sacks and marched his team to four touchdowns.
In the fourth quarter, a 34-yard Jaden Oberkrom field goal cut the deficit to 31-20.
Even with both schools boasting great offenses, Oregon’s may not be stoppable at this point. Kohlhausen’s last touchdown, an 8-yard run in the third overtime, was the game victor. The ensuing two-point conversion, a nifty double-pass from Kohlhausen to tailback Shaun Nixon then to Buck Jones in the end zone, pushed the Frogs within three points. That tied an Alamo Bowl record with Baylor for most points scored in the first quarter.
Kohlhausen’s dream night: TCU senior quarterback Bram Kohlhausen made the most of his first and only college start, lighting up the Ducks’ defense in the second half.
The squads traded scores in consecutive overtime periods. OR plays their first postseason game since losing in the CFP National Championship previous year while TCU’s last bowl game was a 42-3 win over Ole Miss in the 2014 Peach Bowl.
The Ducks’ inexplicable implosion was complete.
Kohlhausen, a redshirt senior, will never play college football again, but he might never buy a drink in Fort Worth again, either. TCU had a total 64 yards of Offense.
On Thursday, police arrested Trevone Boykin, the Horned Frog’s quarterback, and he has been suspended from the team. That said, this can’t go to anybody but Kohlhausen. Despite these setbacks, quarterback Vernon Adams healed from an early finger injury and found his form in the backend of the schedule.

Boykin looked like a favorite for the Heisman Trophy as No. 11 TCU (10-2) opened 8-0, passing for 2,928 yards with 28 TDs and five INTs while rushing for 524 yards and six scores.
