Jets beaten by Ryan’s Bills, squander playoff berth
Plenty of Bills fans have tried to put themselves through tables this season, but to our knowledge, this is the first time a flaming table has been used as a prop. At least this man found a way to stay warm during a snowy tailgate. He was sacked by the Jets a year ago and the Jets overall would have a good season with a playoff birth.

But the Bills tore the last page out of their novel. Jets quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick completed 16 of 37 passes for 181 yards, but threw three fourth-quarter interceptions in his first game in Buffalo since he was the Bills’ quarterback in 2012.
The Bills finished 8-8 in Ryan’s first season, with two wins over the Jets.
Fitzpatrick had thrown 13 touchdowns and just one interception in his previous five games. Will they crush the Jets’ playoff hopes? Then, on the first snap following the 2-minute warning, Fitzpatrick was hit by Marcell Dareus just as he got the ball off. The pass was underthrown and easily intercepted by Manny Lawson. With Buffalo eliminated and NY playing for a playoff spot, 74% of public bettors are now backing the Jets to cover the 3 points today.
Next week: The Jets will likely be wondering how they squandered a golden opportunity to make the postseason. On the third one, Buffalo cornerback Corey Graham dropped an nearly certain pick-six on a telegraphed pass by Fitzpatrick. Meanwhile, the Jets were 3-for-11 on third down.
That brought up a punt, and Ryan Quigley shanked a 21-yarder into the wind.
Fitzpatrick appeared to give the Jets life with 1:18 to go in the third quarter when he connected with Eric Decker on a 21-yard TD. As much as the Bills are motivated to play spoiler, the Jets offense will be too much to stop. And running back Karlos Williams didn’t return after hurting a knee while scoring on a 2-yard run.
The Bills will also be without running back LeSean McCoy after he sprained his MCL in Week 15, and it’ll be tough sledding for Karlos Williams and Mike Gillislee against the Jets’ outstanding front seven.
BANGED-UP BILLS: Of the 22 players who started in Buffalo’s 22-17 win at the Jets on November 12, as many as eight could be sidelined.

Chris Ivory had a 58-yard run to the Buffalo 22 on the Jets’ next possession, but the drive stalled and Randy Bullock missed a 40-yard field-goal attempt.
