The Philadelphia Eagles’ Front Office Is An Absolute Train Wreck
COAL TOWNSHIP-Today Philadelphia Eagles fans are reacting to the announcement team owner Jeffrey Lurie made last night: Head Coach Chip Kelly was sacked. Chip is a great coach. Kelly was sacked Tuesday after the Eagles failed to meet lofty expectations in his third season as coach. When healthy, Bradford has been the Eagles starting quarterback this season and it has not been what you would have wanted from someone you gave a second round pick for.

Kelly, whose quirky style and unconventional methods stood out in the mostly homogeneous, restrained fraternity of National Football League coaches, brought with him the fast-paced offense he had used at OR, which challenged opposing defenses to react quickly and without mass substitutions.
While some players refused to talk about Kelly’s firing, many other Eagles were accepting the blame for their coach’s downfall. But Lurie knows he wants Donahoe, Roseman and the new coach is to be the three who have the final say.
Most of the former Eagles haven’t done much, and I think the question for Kelly is who he opted to go to in many cases. I just think that he didn’t have a good way to go about it, and sometimes it came off a little bit standoffish toward y’all.
“I think Chip had good intentions”, Johnson said. “But like I said before, we as players just didn’t play well enough for him”.
The Eagles said offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur, 50, the head coach of the Cleveland Browns in 2011-12, will be the interim coach for the regular-season finale Sunday against the New York Giants at the Meadowlands. The power struggle in the front office, I think that’s what the biggest thing was. We all could have played better.
“I’m the owner, the GM”, he said.
Why Kelly was sacked became painfully apparent when Lurie discussed the qualities he’s seeking in his next head coach, a process that’s already begun.
“Players don’t like him!” said Hall of Fame wide receiver and former Eagle Cris Carter during his interview on Mike and Mike.
Harbaugh and Kelly are both great coaches, but both had trouble dealing with the egos of the professional athletes.
Asked what advice he’d give Kelly, Vermeil said, “I think he’s got to believe in himself”.
Lurie said during a press conference Wednesday that executive vice president of football operations Howie Roseman would oversee the player personnel department of the franchise, much like he did during the first two seasons of Kelly’s coaching tenure.

He said he has spoken to Kelly since the firing. The Brash and outspoken running back has never truly buried the hatchet with Kelly, and he has admitted to mishandling the McCoy trade. I just went to practice once this year, twice the year before and once the year before, so I’m no authority on it. But I was fascinated by how they practiced football and I learned a lot by watching that.
