Noor Mohammad Kalmati remanded the suspect to police custody till January 15 with the directive to complete the investigation and submit a report on the next date of hearing.

Taking notice of the incident, Sindh Home Minister Sohail Anwar Siyal asked the Additional IG, Karachi to conduct an inquiry into the incident and the allegations made by the family.

Dunya News also obtained passport of the returning student. Earlier on Saturday, however, police officials had claimed the robbery victims had informed them that they were in pursuit of the suspects as well.

Police were also looking for other complainants and the CCTV footages.
