Asus launches ZenFone Max, priced at Rs 9999

Asus launched its latest ZenFone Max smartphone that doubles as a powerbank at Rs 9,999 today in India. The ZenFone Max can be purchased via Flipkart and the online retailer lists the tentative release date to be January 14.

The Taiwanese tech giant confirmed that the Zenfone Max will be made available at its exclusive stores and other brick-and-mortar retail stores across India from second fortnight of January onwards. The lithium-polymer battery, when fully charged, offers ultimate ease of usability and peace of mind to users by providing 37.6 hours of 3G talk time or 32.5 hours of Wi-Fi web browsing or 72.9 hours of music playback or 22.6 hours of video playback. Additionally, it can also work as a power bank to other devices. At its heart is a 64-bit Qualcomm Snapdragon 410 processor with up to 2 GB of RAM.

The ZenFone Max sports a 5.5-inch display with Gorilla Glass 4 protection. The Asus Zenfone Max is the company’s first smartphone with a 5,000mAh battery. It is also equipped with a 13-megapixel f/2.0 rear camera with laser auto-focus plus dual-tone LED flash and a 5-megapixel front-facing snapper. It has 16GB internal memory along with a microSD card slot that can be used to add up to 64GB more memory. It runs on Android Lollipop 5.0 OS with ZenUI on it.
