Marcus Smart Suffers Gruesome Hand Injury During Summer League Game
The Boston Celtics guard fell while fighting for a rebound and landed awkwardly on his right hand.

His absence means more opportunities for rookie Terry Rozier to play the lead guard for Boston. But Smart will now stay in Boston as his fingers heal. Nothing has changed overnight since he was diagnosed with dislocated right index and middle fingers that required five stitches. Those sutures could slow Smart’s recovery, as they will affect his ability to regain range of motion in his fingers.
“Thanks to everyone for the prayers thanks to the staff for all that they did to help just a minor set back for major comeback”, Smart said on his official Twitter account.
Smart will be re-evaluated sometime next week in Boston.
