With a wobble, Brady and Patriots head into the playoffs

The Miami Dolphins knocked Tom Brady off his game Sunday. Brady stepped gingerly off the interview podium following Sunday’s 20-10 loss to the Dolphins, favoring the injured ankle.

The Patriots finished 12-4 – good enough for their 12th AFC East title in 13 years and their sixth straight first-round postseason bye, but one victory short of clinching home-field advantage through the playoffs. Because Brady’s injury is to his right ankle, Brady’s ability to plant and drive off of his back foot while attempting passes will be worth monitoring when the Patriots host a Divisional Round playoff game at Gillette Stadium on January 16.

“He just came over to me and said, ‘Jimmy’s going to go in.’ I just said ‘OK”, Brady said. It was scored on a 2-yard run by Steven Jackson – his first TD since joining New England on Dec 22.

“There are a lot of teams that are going to be looking for coaches”, Ross said, “so we want to make it sooner than later”. He threw only five passes in the first half, the lowest halftime total in any game he has started, according to STATS.

The Dolphins will now pack away the football equipment, send the players to their usual January vacation spots, and get to figuring out who will be here to greet them when they return. Team president Mike Tannenbaum heads the coaching search. New England may not of been expecting too big of a challenge from Miami, but they got one.

Miami quarterback Ryan Tannehill completed 25 of 38 passes for 350 yards and two touchdowns.

Sunday night, former Patriot Rodney Harrison had some strong words of concern for his former team.

Dolphins rookie wide receiver DeVante Parker caught five passes for 106 yards.
