Mumbai: Mumbai school cricketer Pranav Dhanawade has made it into the record books after he slammed a large 921 runs off 294 balls in an inter-school cricket tournament.

On Tuesday, after remaining unbeaten on 652, Dhanawade had said he was only looking to get to triple digits after failing in the earlier games.

“That’s when I thought it was possible”, he said.

At that point, the confident Year 10 opening batsman was already eyeing the unthinkable – a four-figure score.

The 15-year-old was thrilled that he achieved heroics in presence of his father?

He later told the Hindustan Times: “I was nervous throughout, but was just happy to see my son batting”.

Dhanawade, who was unbeaten on 652 last evening, thus became the world’s highest-ever individual scorer in all forms of cricket. He has proved that he has the talent today.

“Why not? I am confident that I can do it”, DNA India reported Dhanawade as saying. Cricket is neither an easy sport nor a cheap one. Dhanawade broke his record en route the 1,000 runs he scored.

Mumbai’s maidans have been home to several records in school cricket, predominantly by batsmen.

Pranav has been playing cricket since he was five under the tutelage of coach Mobin Sheikh. While Sarfaraz had scored 439 in 2009, Jaffer posted 498 in 2010 to break the record, only to be surpassed by Shaw, who, in turn, has now been overtaken by Dhanawade.

Pranav Dhanawade’s school declared the innings at 1465 with him unbeaten on 1009 which he scored of 323 balls
