He started on his attempt to beat the game back in May, 2011 and wrapped up the game on January 2nd, 2016. A totally blind person completing Zelda: Ocarina of Time with just walkthroughs, helpful vids from fans, and save states. Garrett began playing “Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time” to prove that he was capable of completing both 3D and 2D games despite being visually impaired. “It has been long in the making, but I have finally accomplished my goal!” says Gerrett in the video description.
He graduated from the University of Colorado Colorado Springs in 2012 with a degree in mechanical engineering, he participates in triathlons and even climbed Mt. Kilimajoro, according to the local paper, The Gazette. In the following years Terry refused to give up his hobby and learned how to make his way through games relying on sound, rather than sight (much like he does in the real world).

But recently completing “Zelda” is far from Garrett’s most impressive achievement. Terry Garrett explains that he places two speakers in front of him, one on the left and one on the right, to help in determining the locations of the sounds in-game. He has played side scrollers such as “OddWorld: New “n” Tasty”. Check out the video below where he beats the final Ocarina Of Time boss, Ganon.
