Anthem Inc, the No. 2 US health insurer, disclosed in February that it fell victim to a massive data breach, prompting state and federal investigations.

A CVS public relations person declined to comment when asked by Benzinga on the matter.
CVS did not name the other company.
CVS’ on-line photograph service remained shut down Friday, a day after the corporate acknowledged that it might have been hacked and that credit score card info might have been stolen from it. PNI describes its providers as a “proprietary transactional software program platform”.
The customer information on the site is “completely separate” from CVS.com and the pharmacies. We apologize for the inconvenience. Customers who used their credit cards on CVSPhoto.com are being advised to check credit card statements for fraudulent or suspicious activity and report any concerns to their bank or financial institution.
According to the statement, payments on CVSPhoto.com are processed independently from CVS.com and CVS pharmacies.
The company wouldn’t say how many customers could potentially be affected.

Similar to CVS, the discounter said it has no reason to believe that its main Canadian and USA sites, or any in-store transactions, were affected by the potential theft, which was first disclosed July 10.
