With the start of Season 5 just around the corner, it has been announced that Season 6 of HBO’s Girls will be its last. Show creator and star Lena Dunham has been pushing the idea that Season 6 may be the ideal ending point for the show since April, telling Variety, “I think America has a tendency to push shows past their due dates”.

Season 5 of Girls isn’t premiering until February 21, but it seems the ending of the show is already nigh.

You must in all probability begin getting ready your self for the complete of Lena Dunham’s Emmy-winning collection Girls. “Once we figure out what season five is, we’ll know whether it’s another year”, she said at the time. I hear the decision was made virtually unanimously, with HBO brass and the series producers agreeing that was the right lifespan for the series, which became an instant pop culture staple and made creator/star Dunham a household name.

It was just past year that Dunham herself stated that the show would most likely only run six-seasons on HBO. We would like to end in a graceful place. HBO has certainly been making plans for this eventuality; their 2016 slate is full of new comedies like High Maintenance, Vice Principals, and Sarah Jessica Parker’s Divorced.
