Withings ‘GO’ Is A New Colorful Activity Tracker Announced At CES
It’s no surprise that wearables are a big component of this year’s CES and French manufacturer Withings just revealed a cute new activity tracker called the Go. It’s water resistant up to five atmospheres, so you can take the Go swimming and Withings says it should recognize the activity automatically.

It can be worn on your wrist, clipped to a belt, carried on a key chain or in a pocket. It counts steps, estimating distances covered, monitors calorie burn and analyzes sleep patterns. “Sporting a number of industry firsts, from always-on multiple displays to dynamic activity recognition, we have once again released a product that will make activity tracking accessible for everyone”.
While Withings Go is coming out as a budget fitness tracker, it has all the functionality of something twice as expensive. The Go uses a button cell battery like you’d find in a watch, so it doesn’t need recharging and lasts up to eight months, Withings says. The only problem? Most don’t really tell you how you’re doing with your fitness goals. It’ll connect to your Android or iOS smartphone and Withings’ Health Mate app for all the usual quantified self tracking and stat monitoring, also with food logging through MyFitnessPal integration.
The circle-shaped Withings Go has an E Ink display created to depict “at a glance” information with a main screen that shows a user’s activity progress towards their individualized activity goal.
Of course, $450 is a lot to swallow for a simple activity tracker (no matter how elegant it is), so Withings came out with the $150 Activitè Pop and most recently the $169 Activitè Steel. Many people already bought activity trackers from FitBit, Jawbone and Withings and don’t use them anymore.

The Go is available in 5 vibrant colors (black, blue, green, red, yellow), and can be worn different ways. The Go looks a bit like something you’d get out of one of those quarter machines at the supermarket.
