Chargers, Rams, Raiders all file for relocation to Los Angeles
The Raiders first moved to Los Angeles in 1982 and returned in 1995 when Oakland and Alameda County agreed to add seating and luxury suites to the Coliseum. The league is reported to be eyeing a relocation fee in the neighborhood of $500 million. While Oakland hasn’t finalized a proposal for a new Rams stadium, St. Louis and San Diego did include stadium proposals in their pitches to the NFL.

“It’s been 14 years that we’ve been working very hard to try and get something done here”, Spanos said, referring to efforts to build a new stadium to replace Qualcomm Stadium, the team’s home since 1967.
The owners, in their decision, will lean on a six-page list of National Football League relocation guidelines.
In order to be relocated, a team must receive an affirmative vote from 24 out of the 32 teams in the league, the NFL explained.
The other teams that filed papers on Monday for a move to Los Angeles were the St. Louis Rams and the San Diego Chargers, NFL officials said.
The actual owner’s vote on relocation is expected next week in Houston. Rams owner Stan Kroenke bought land in Los Angeles County two years ago, and announced last year his plans to build a new stadium there.
McCarthy said the applications will be reviewed this week by league staff and three league committees – the Los Angeles Opportunities, Stadium and Finance committees – that will meet in NY on Wednesday and Thursday.
The NFL on Monday officially acknowledged that the St. Louis Rams, Oakland Raiders and San Diego Chargers submitted their formal applications for relocation to Los Angeles.
The stadium in Carson is expected to cost $1.7 billion.
Any team that makes the move will boost its revenue by hundreds of millions a year, according to Marc Ganis, a sports marketing consultant who’s helped National Football League teams move in the past.
Raiders fans had been bracing for the team to make official its designs on Los Angeles, but many were still disappointed to once again see the team trying to leave.
“We’ve anticipated this filing from the Rams for more than a year”, the statement said. San Diego has offered a similar stadium deal to the Chargers.

NFL Network reported Sunday that none of the three teams eager to move has the support of ownership required to move at this time.
