ASUS to launch photography-focused smartphone

Not anymore. Asus’ ZenFone Zoom comes with a 3x optical-zoom by 28-84mm focal length that seems to have solved the problems of telescoping bulk.

Created to be a photographer’s delight, the new device will be equipped with an unprecedented hardware technology for the clearest and sharpest images ever captured through a smartphone.

The smartphone manufacturing corporation, Asus finally rolled another smartphone in its Zenfone series – Zenfone Max.

Last year, at the CES trade show, the handset made its debut and from the last couple of months, the Taiwanese company have been tipping regarding its launch in India.

Some key features of the new smartphone are a 13 MP primary camera with 3X optical zoom, laser auto focus and 10 lenses with OIS for better image quality. The device is scheduled to enter the Indian market later this month.

There are two variants of the device – one with an Intel Atom Quad Core Z3580 processor clocked at 2.3GHz and another with an Intel Atom Quad Core Z3590 (up to 2 cores running at 2.5GHz).

The inbuilt storage is 64GB and is expandable up to 128GB using microSD card.

The device runs on Android 5.0 with ASUS ZenUI on top. Also, it has a 5-megapixel front camera sensor with 1080p video recording support. In terms of connectivity, the smartphone supports GPRS/ EDGE, Bluetooth, 3G, 4G, Wi-Fi, and Micro-USB.

There is no word on India pricing or launch date yet.
