Ranieri hopeful on Vardy and Mahrez futures
Leicester City’s captain, Wes Morgan, is looking for his side to stay positive and build on their remarkable first half of the Premier League season, which leaves them second only on goal difference.

Vardy has been in fine form for the Foxes this season, scoring 15 Premier League goals whilst breaking a league record in the process.
And former Birmingham City midfielder Savage feels that the north London side will eventually leapfrog Ranieri’s high-flying Foxes in the coming months.
No doubt both Vardy and Mahrez are on several teams’ shortlists for the upcoming transfer windows, especially the younger Mahrez who’s having the sort of season we were expecting from another 24-year-old, named Eden Hazard.
Manchester City, who have not won away in the league since September, went close through Raheem Sterling and Nicolas Otamendi.
Claudio Ranieri insists Leicester will toast their first half of the season with a glass of champagne after reaching the 40-point mark. It was hard but we played well, we created some chances.
Ranieri said: “When I think it’s the right moment to give him a rest I’ll give it to him”.
So, with his team somewhat blunting an impressive City forward-line, it seems that the Italian’s tactical switch paid off; highlighting the fact that the pair “played very well” (in the opinion of Ranieri). “We will fight until the end”. We have not scored for three games, but we have had chances.
“We started the season strongly, but we have not been great over the last 12 games or so. We’ve had two tough games in three days and three wins out of three now over a tough Christmas period so we couldn’t be happier, we go into the New Year buzzing and hopefully we’ll continue it at Everton next week”. “I told my players we are at the basement but the other sides are a villa with swimming pool and everything. It’s a miracle what we’re doing”.
“We had more possession and attempts than Leicester and did more to win the game, but if you can’t win it’s important not to lose”. Yes, because we are near the points needed to be top of the table, we are playing in the semi-finals of the Capital One Cup and we have qualified in the Champions League.
