Television personality Steve Harvey hosts the 2015 Miss Universe Pageant at The Axis at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino on December 20, 2015 in Las Vegas, Nevada.

“We’ll give it to her because she had a problem with Miss Colombia”. The host said on his show, “I’ve talked to people backstage. All I heard was people say, “That’s the wrong name”…and all I hear is confusion backstage”.
PIA Wurtzbach admitted it would be “difficult” to share the coveted Miss Universe crown with Miss Colombia Ariadna Gutierrez. Now, have I tried? But haven’t gotten a response.
During the pageant, Harvey showed the card on camera and you could see the runner-up’s name was larger than the actual victor even though they were separated into two different columns.
“All hell broke loose”, Harvey described the pandemonium. “I cried a ton that night”, she said. She said that the host did a gracious apology for what happened and she accepted it.
“Did I make a mistake?” he continued. “Now I’m standing here in the wing, so what I did was, I said, ‘I gotta go fix it.’ Now I got a guy in my ear going, ‘We gotta do something!” “I think that she will go far”. How this must have made the woman from Colombia [feel]…
“It’s a big deal in the Philippians, we take pageants very seriously and it’s been awhile since we won at Miss Universe. I’m so excited, I can’t wait to start my reign”.
Meanwhile, speaking to the Spanish-language network Univision in an interview that aired Monday, Gutierrez expressed her displeasure about how the situation was handled.
She said Gutierrez seems “okay” and she knows that there are a lot of opportunities in store for both of them. “They could have done it another way…”
She said it might be cool to bare her body as long as it’s done in “good taste”.

Miss Universe 2015 Pia Alonzo Wurtzbach will be coming home on January 23.
