Stewart was also Huckabee’s communications director during the 2008 presidential election, when he won the Iowa caucuses.

“This is a big development from where Senator Cruz was, which was immediate repeal of the RFS to supporting it through 2022”, Majda Sarkic, a spokeswoman for America’s Renewable Future, said in an e-mail.
In polls, Huckabee sits at 2 percent and Santorum at 1 percent or less.
“Farmers and rural communities across Iowa are going to be encouraged by Sen”.
Ethanol groups have looked to pressure Cruz on the issue.
The ad opens with, “Ted Cruz is wonderful at reading children’s fairytales on the Senate floor”, taking square aim at the candidate who is most frequently viewed as the likeliest to dethrone the Trump Train from atop the GOP nomination race.
The spot, now airing on broadcast and cable outlets in Iowa, starts with U.S. Sen. Now that he’s facing pressure regarding his stance, he claims that he does indeed support ending subsidies for oil.
“I think it’s still way too early”, said Branstad, son of Iowa Gov. Terry Branstad. The lobbyists specifically are “trying the best they can to snooker the people of Iowa” into thinking the standard is the only way for ethanol to survive, Cruz said.
The commercial, which will air in Iowa, notes that if “you want someone to read one hell of a bedtime story?” The problem is, the government is blocking ethanol.
Cruz supporters seem unfazed by the wave of attacks, though they were topics of conversation as Cruz mingled with crowds. Me: That’s plausible. That explains Carson; and even though Cruz is a senator, he has been a bomb-thrower, so he gets a pass. Me: Don’t forget that Ted Cruz was in eastern Kentucky that day, too; Mike Huckabee just wouldn’t let him get near the microphone.

Cruz is set to continue the tour Wednesday with five more stops across deeply conservative northwest Iowa. In his 2016 campaign, he has put emphasis on the Hawkeye State, campaigning in each of the state’s 99 counties.
