Juror admits Netflix murderer was framed
As Avery’s defense lawyers, the unofficial heroes of Making a Murderer, point out during the trial, the prosecution should always be “swimming upstream”, thanks to the presumption of innocence all defendants theoretically enjoy.

In contrast to “Serial” podcast’s Adnan Syed, he isn’t particularly charismatic or well spoken, nor does he have a relatable story – in Syed’s case, a high school romance – attached to the murder for which he has been convicted.
Morry Gash/AP Since Avery (pictured in 2007) was featured as the subject of the Netflix series “Making a Murderer”, hundreds of thousands of people have claimed he was wrongfully convicted and should be released. But now, thanks to the Northwestern University’s Center on Wrongful Convictions of Youth, Dassey will receive a writ of Habeas corpus, which will lead to Wisconsin examining Dassey’s case to determine if he was illegally imprisoned.
In other news, the “pardon Steven Avery” petition on WhiteHouse.Gov has now garnered over 100,000 signatures, meaning that the President’s office is now required-by its own standards-to reply.
An opportunity the filmmakers missed, however, would have been to tell how 18 years of unjust imprisonment might have changed Avery into a person capable of murdering an innocent young woman.
Now, after many viewers have watched the series, which claims that police framed Steven Avery for the murder, the man is alleging that he knows the true identity of Teresa Halbach’s killer. Steven Avery is blaming his own brother, Charles Avery. They were uneducated, outliers in the small community.
After his release he was then accused and found guilty of another crime – this time, murder. Steven Avery has a shelf life.
The reprieve was short-lived. We’ll find out in a due time!
If you haven’t watched the whole of Netflix series Making a Murderer yet, you might want to look away now. He had a criminal record, that one overturned conviction aside.
The Avery documentary has generated renewed interest in the case.
At least 170,000 people think so.
Wisconsin governor Scott Walker does not seem willing to pardon the men. “Quite frankly, I assume justice was served on this case”.
Avery’s defense argued that Manitowoc officers who were in the middle of being deposed in his lawsuit were also involved in the gathering of evidence for the Halbach murder and may have framed him.

Laura Ricciardi, the show’s co-writer/director, said “it was a almost six-week-long trial, and it would just be impossible for us to include all of the less significant evidence”, according to The Wrap.

According to the juror, the jury was sceptical of the evidence presented against Avery during the trial, but said they voted to convict Avery because “they feared for their personal safety”, Demos said.
