The arrival of the new Compute Stick not only brings affordable and portable computing experience to masses but also silently promotes Microsoft’s Windows 10.
If you fell in love with a monitor unveiled at CES or just happen to have a monitor already setup, Intel has announced new Compute Sticks that can turn any monitor into a full PC.
With regards the second generation Intel Compute Stick range there will be at least three models available at launch taking the form of a STKMV64CC with a Core M5-6Y57 vPro processor, STKM3W64CC, and STKM364VCC with Core M-6Y30.
The new ones from Intel are smaller than previous models while packing new CPUs for improved performance.
Stick PCs tend to be powered by a single USB port, but these new units need a little more juice than that can provide.
Intel has announced an upgraded Compute Stick at the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) 2016 in Las Vegas. It only has two USB ports compared to its bigger higher end siblings and sports the slightly lower Bluetooth 4.0 and the same dual band wireless connectivity (AC 7265).
This is actually Intel’s second stick computer-the first was released a year ago and dinged for only having one USB port, making users have to choose whether to connect a keyboard or a mouse (of course, they always could just connect via both Bluetooth, but it was still an awkward design choice). The model (STK2M3W64CC) with Intel Core m3 processor and Windows 10 is priced at $399 (roughly Rs. 26,692), whereas the Intel Core m5 vPro-specced variant (STK2MV64CC) with no operating system is priced at $499 (roughly Rs. 33,382).
As for the specifications, both the Cherry Trail models feature 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of inbuilt storage. The Atom model is its “good” version, the Core m3 is its “better” version, and the Core m5 is its “best” option.

“The new Compute Stick measures 4.5″ x 1.5 ” x 0.5″ which makes it about half an inch longer and a tiny bit thicker than the original Intel Compute Stick. Power for the Stick itself comes by way of a USB Type-C cable. The Cherry Trail model with Windows 10 is priced at $159.
