The WSD-F10, also known as the Smart Outdoor Watch, has been spotted at CES 2016 and appears to be the company’s first running Android Wear. It also features a dual layer display with color LCD’s or a monochrome mode in case you want to save some juice. With normal usage, the watch battery lasts more than one day; Timepiece Mode extends that to more than one month.

Tested to United States military standard MIL-STD-810 issued by the U.S. Department of Defense to perform in the rugged outdoors.
This is the Casio Smart Outdoor Watch, model WSD-F10. If you ever doubted it was the display draining that batter, there it is. I feel like I might have done Casio’s Smart Outdoor Watch a bit of a disservice with these shots, but what are you gonna do?
The 1.32-inch display has a resolution of 320 x 300 pixels with a noticeable “flat tire” design at the bottom.
Casio will begin selling the WSD-F10 in April for $500.
The watch has Global Positioning System, a barometer, altimeter, and a compass all built in, with users able to quickly check any of the readings by pressing a button on the right side of the watch. When ran in timepiece mode, the watch battery is good for over a month per charge.
Targeted toward the most adventurous of wearers, the watch shows Casio stepping further into the smartwatch market among Apple and other major tech companies that are looking to create a wrist device that’s durable and useful.
Pre-loaded apps like ViewRanger GPS for trekking, MyRadar for real-time weather info, and Runkeeper for tracking different physical activities round out the outdoor functionality of the WSD-F10.
That said there is definitely a niche that Casio could easily fill with a solid smartwatch with Android Wear.

Unlike many other smartwatches that primarily operate through a touchscreen panel, Casio’s offering has three operating buttons with slip-free finish to let you operate its functions even with gloves on. The wristband is made from soft urethane plastic that conforms to the wrist. Notifications from your phone will pop-up, you can perform voice searches through Google Now, there’s access to the growing selection of apps and it’ll work with both iOS and Android.
