Southeast Texans seek luck and tickets ahead of Powerball drawing
The estimated jackpot now stands at $675 million, which ranks as the largest ever offered in North America from Powerball or Mega Millions.

A spokeswoman for the Texas Lottery couldn’t immediately say after the drawing whether there was a victor.
If a victor is declared, the prize money will have a pre-tax cash option of $306 million in one take, or $500 million paid out over 29 years, after taxes.
The bad news is you didn’t win Wednesday’s $524.1 million Powerball jackpot.
Since Powerball tickets went on sale here in 2006, four North Carolina players have beaten the odds to win jackpots of $74.5 million to $188 million. The winning numbers are: 2, 11, 47, 62 and 63, with a Powerball number of 17.
If a winning ticket was sold for Wednesday night’s drawing, it would the biggest prize in almost a year.

The prize amount has been going up since the last Powerball victor two months ago and people have been buying up tickets not just in Texas but in 44 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands. “We already know that this series of POWERBALL jackpot rollovers is a win for education, with more than $24 million in revenue generated for Florida students and schools”. Powerball’s largest jackpot was more than $590 million in May 2013. If you don’t make the deadline, the Beaumont man says there’s no whining allowed. But as lottery officials often note, people have no chance of winning if they don’t buy a ticket.
