The numbers for Wednesday’s $500 million jackpot were: 2, 11, 47, 62, 63 with a Powerball of 17. The last time Powerball had grown this large was in February 2015, when three winners split a $564.1 million prize.
“This historic jackpot is sparking incredible interest and players across Pennsylvania are very excited”, said Pennsylvania Lottery Executive Director Drew Svitko. Another large jackpot was in a Mega Millions drawing in 2012. Players may select their own numbers using a Powerball playslip, or they may opt for computer-selected quick picks.
Powerball is sold in 44 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
The payout would have had an estimated cash value of more than $300 million, before taxes, according to the Powerball website.
There was one Match 5 Power Play victor in New Mexico, which guarantees a $2 million prize.

Spokesperson Jeff Holyfield said Michiganders bought 6.3 million tickets for the $500 million prize, with 600,000 being scooped up between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. Wednesday. That means for every ticket you buy, you have a 1 in 292,201,338 chance of winning the jackpot, or a 0.00000034% probability. Winners have 180 days from the applicable drawing to claim their prize. The drawing takes place at 10:59 p.m.
