As for the attack itself, top sources within the government say they are sure that there is involvement of Pakistan establishment at some level and more importantly the attack seems to have been planned in very short span of time to avoid getting traced and this is why the attackers had no idea about where the hangers were.
The National Investigation Agency (NIA) team on Tuesday reached the Indian Air Force base in Pathankot to begin its investigation of the three cases lodged in connection with the ongoing terror attack.
“Specific and actionable information in this regard has been provided to Pakistan”, read an official statement.
“Seven of our soldiers get martyred in return of a cup of tea with Nawaz Sharif…The incident has proven that our borders are not safe and our internal security is in shambles”.

Indian Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar on Tuesday said six terrorists, who had attacked the Pathankot air base, have been neutralised.
Meanwhile, the operations entered its fourth day today as the base is being combed for the remaining terrorists.
Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi spoke to his Pakistani counterpart, Modi’s office said in a statement, saying the Indian prime minister called on Pakistan “to take firm and immediate action” against those linked to the attackers. It was after the two NSAs spoke for 2nd time on the morning of 5 January that Pakistan PM Nawaz Sharif called up Prime Minister Modi from Colombo and assured prompt action while urging that talks should continue, responding to which PM categorically apprised him of angst in India demanding prompt and strict action.
Sharif also told Modi that the militants wanted to derail the Pakistan-India peace process, according to Pakistani Information Minister Pervaiz Rashid.
India accuses Pakistan of arming and training insurgents in its portion of Kashmir.

He said that the United States wants India and Pakistan to resolve all issues bilaterally.
