A lottery official says there is no jackpot victor in the drawing for a Powerball prize worth an estimated $500 million.
The jackpot is $50 million more than lottery officials anticipated after no one won the $334 million prize last Saturday. A new round of numbers will be picked at 11 pm ET on Wednesday.
The jackpot ranks as the sixth largest offered in North America.
The biggest jackpot ever was a $656 million Mega Millions prize won in 2012.
A victor could claim the pre-tax $500 million prize through an annuity over 29 years or in a single pre-tax payout of $306 million.
Saturday’s prize reportedly would be the largest lottery jackpot in USA history, but expect it to grow even larger because of increased ticket sales.
Powerball’s largest jackpot was more than $590 million in May 2013.
Winners are advised to sign the lottery ticket as soon as they get the chance.
Powerball is sold in 44 states, Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
