Milder Temps Then Cold and Lake Effect Snow
Temperatures have climbed back above average this afternoon, and will remain on the warm side through much of the weekend. There will be cloudy skies on Thursday with a slight chance for coastal showers. Another upper low moves our way Saturday bringing higher rain chances.

Clouds began building into our area early this morning. For Jacksonville State fans, the game in Texas looks mostly cloudy and cool.
Temperatures will slowly plummet over the weekend, with highs in the upper teens on Monday. These showers should end by mid to late morning. Rain showers will impact the first part of the day.
Rain will also return into the forecast on Saturday with showers possible during the Texans wild card playoff game. Expect a mix of sun and clouds; just a small risk of a shower during the game.
A strong Canadian cold front will then push through during the day Saturday pushing colder temperatures into the region by Saturday night.
Cloudy skies with some spotty drizzle are around central Virginia this morning.

Monday: The warming trend and clearer skies will continue. Dry for most of the night but showers arrive by morning. Our temperature will hold steady in the lower 40s for the day.
