TNT cancels plan for Teen Titans live action series

Remember that live-action Teen Titans TV show that TNT had in the works? Other character that would have been featured in the series include Hawk and Dove, who would have been romantically linked, along with Raven and Starfire, who was said to have a romantic relationship with Nightwing.

But now TNT president Kevin Reilly has revealed the project is dead.

“We decided it wasn’t where we wanted to go”, Reilly told the Television Critics Association (via Deadline). Last May, he suggested that casting and shooting could get underway as early as summer, and offered hints to press about what the show had in store.

It appears Nightwing and the rest of the Teen Titans won’t be saving the say on TNT any time soon. A pilot script co-written by Batman and Robin’s Akiva Goldsman was commissioned and it seemed like all system go for DC properties to enter the live action cable TV sphere.

“I think it’s going to end up being a very, very interesting offering”. A team comprised of young superheroes, the Titans have changed rosters quite a bit in the comics and many younger fans actually know the characters best for their 2003 animated series. The initial announcement of a Titans TV series was met with much excitement, but since then we’ve had radio silence from the project.

We hadn’t heard about this one in a while, so we already feared the worst.
