Did Trump ‘jump the shark’ over Cruz birth issues?
“When people say, ‘Why do you always talk about the polls?’ I say, ‘Because I’m winning!’ Believe me, if I’m not winning, I don’t talk about them“, said Trump. While the Constitution does not make explicit what a “natural born citizen” is, most experts agree the term means a person born with USA citizenship-regardless of his or her birthplace.

U.S. Republican presidential candidate Ted Cruz speaks with the media at a campaign stop at Danny’s Sports Spot in Cherokee, Iowa, on Tuesday.
The key statute of the order – which led to Aldo Maro Bellei, who was born in Italy to an American mother, to lose his citizenship – is that the citizen must live in the US for five years between the ages of 14 and 28.
Cruz was born in 1970 in Calgary to a Cuban father and American mother.
DE 105.9 Blog: Allan LoudellTrump raises the “birther” issue – against Ted CruzDonald Trump – who famously has questioned President Obama’s birthplace, and ability to occupy the Oval Office – is now going after Ted Cruz, for having been born north of the worldwide border, in the Canadian province of Alberta. “Cruz as their nominee, somebody who actually wasn’t born in the United Sates and who only eight months ago renounced his Canadian citizenship”, Earnest said during his daily press briefing.
The U.S. Constitution says the president must be a “natural born citizen”. We suspect Trump was suggesting Cruz had obtained both one USA and a Canadian one-though our requests for factual backup drew no replies from Trump representatives.
He added that it would be a precarious one the Republicans because he would be running and the courts could take a long period to come up with a decision. Cruz’s camp countered by tweeting a link to Happy Days, implying that Trump has jumped the shark.
But Trump has been ratcheting up his attacks on Cruz in recent weeks.
In August 2013, when the Dallas Morning News reported Cruz’s dual status, Cruz said that it came as a surprise to him and his parents.
Other Republican presidential candidates are demurring from questioning Cruz’s eligibility to serve as president.

“How do you run against the Democrat, whoever it may be, and you have this hanging over your head if they bring a lawsuit?” So far, New Hampshire voters are still overwhelmingly on board with Donald Trump. The idea of trying to delegitimate the first viable black candidate for president by effectively claiming he is a not a real American is just too Freudian for words.
