Conor McGregor looks set to fight Rafael dos Anjos on March 5th

Bleacher Report claim that the fight will take place in Las Vegas in either the MGM Grand or Mandalay Bay. If true it will be a hell of a show with Holly Holm also slated to defend her title for the first time since beating Ronda Rousey.

McGregor, who knocked out longtime featherweight champion Jose Aldo in just 13 seconds at UFC 194, is the most popular figure in mixed martial arts.

Typically, the UFC is extremely reluctant about its champions switching weight classes, but they were cool with Conor moving up to lightweight … so long as he agreed to leave his featherweight title behind.

However, this is potentially being teed up for UFC 200 later this year, with Holm keen to defend her title before facing Rousey again. But Holm did not want to wait on the sidelines and preferred to stay active, and she’s getting her wish. Probably Conor McGregor’s next fight.

UFC president Dana White ruled out an immediate rematch between Holm and Rousey, saying the former champion will return later in the year. It was recorded as the second-fastest stoppage in UFC title fight history.

The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) is reportedly preparing a blockbuster event that will feature two championship clashes as co-headlining main events. Tate will enter the fight riding a four fight winning streak and she has not lost a bout in just over two years.

A black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu with impressive Muay Thai skills, dos Anjos has similar attributes to Conor McGregor’s most recent victim.

That’s great news for current No. 2 contender Tate who was furious past year when she was told she would be rematching Rousey, only to then have the opportunity taken from her when Holm was suddenly propelled to title contention instead.
