As well as the larger storage option on the iPhone 7 Plus, the handset is also rumored to feature a larger 3100 mAh battery, this is around 12.7% larger than the battery used in the current handset. Fast Company states that Apple has considered supporting wireless charging on two previous iPhones, and its plans could still change.

The production cut, which the report attributed to “lackluster” sales compared to last year’s iPhone models, set off a storm of gloomy predictions, after hours selloffs, and analyst rebuttals. This followed reports that suggested a slowing down of shipments of the company’s latest iPhone iterations – the iPhone 6s and 6s Plus.

In a sign that Apple’s days of printing its own tax-free money are over after people decided not to buy its iPhone 6s. A new report from a reputable publication claims that Apple has started slowing down iPhone production because it possibly anticipates low sales this time around as opposed to past year. Production is expected to return to normal by the second quarter, April- June.

Apple stock was down 2%, trading near 103, in afternoon trading on the stock market today.

The Nikkei said the cutbacks are likely to affect liquid crystal display panel manufacturers Japan Display, Sharp, and LG Display, as well as image sensor supplier Sony and electronic parts maker TDK, Alps Electric, and Kyocera. It’s unknown how sales held up throughout the most recent quarter, and we won’t know until Apple releases its Q1 earnings report later this month. Apple has increasingly turned its attention to the lucrative China market, where sales of iPhones have grown 65 per cent year-on-year. “We also believe unit strength could come from lower end models and note that in the 5S cycle, Apple saw strength from the 4S due to strategic actions in various markets”.
