Van Gaal unconcerned about Guardiola’s Premier League plans

As for United, Louis van Gaal’s immediate future seems secure but they could possibly be tempted to replace one former Barca and Bayern boss with another. However, for a race that should be highly contested, there’s only really one team in it and that’s Manchester City.

Roberto Martinez, Everton manager is certain the arrival of Pep Guardiola will raise the standard in the EPL.

The chance to lead City to its first ever Champions League triumph would be another carrot while he has previously worked with City’s director of football, Txiki Begiristain, at Barca.

It’s official, arguably the world’s best coach Pep Guardiola is packing his bags and heading for England.

“We’re now experimenting with a dish inspired by the man himself called “The Philosopher” which fuses Thai noodle soup with Catalonia escudella and will only be available to Guardiola himself”, said executive chef Jude Krit.

Centre-back Pique returned to Barca, his boyhood club, from Manchester United back in 2008, and the 28-year-old is now a vital player at the Camp Nou.

“I think that it is very good he wants to do that and I don’t think it will interfere in his club now”.

“Every manager has that right to announce (he is leaving)”, the United mannager said.

“I’ve more important things on my mind”. He likes support from the board, complete control and freedom on strategy and long-term planning.

“For some months, maybe a couple of years, he wanted to tick the box about taking over at Manchester United”. The latter would certainly be something that would put Pep off hugely.

The former Barcelona manager took the reins at Bayern Munich in 2013 following the departure of Jupp Heynckes.

However, City’s money may talk, and Guardiola could be the trump card.

The potential prize is much-needed evidence that the league which boasts more financial underpinning than any of its rivals can, in the post-Ferguson age, produce something resembling a coherent partnership of huge resources and a strong, independent and strikingly brilliant football man. City’s “ageing” squad may be a slight concern but there’s still plenty of talent and youth.

Paul Pogba is amongst these, according to The Sun, as Guardiola will try to build a young team to leave a dynasty at Manchester City.

Mario Gotze is the most high-profile player to have struggled to come to terms with the demands of Guardiola’s management style and Matthaus claimed the German World Cup winning hero will benefit from playing under a coach more renowned for their motivational skills.
