The Broncos had turned to inexperienced quarterback Brock Osweiler to take over for Manning.
More likely, Manning will be (at-least-temporarily) a healthier and somewhat improved version of the quarterback who had some decent moments this season but struggled his way to nine touchdown passes, 17 interceptions and a passer rating of 67.9 during the regular season.
“I wouldn’t have told Coach Kubiak I was ready to dress out last Sunday had I not felt good”, Manning said.
Of course, a Patriots-Broncos playoff matchup is only possible if both teams win their Divisional Round playoff game against still-to-be-determined opponents. It’s very possible that this will be the last we see of one of the NFL’s all-time greats, so it would be nice to see Manning have success and go out on top. After finishing their season with a 12-4 record they are moving onto the playoffs, according to Broncos.
Manning replaced Osweiler in the the third quarter of last Sunday’s win over the Chargers.

He knows exactly what we think of him. He had led the league with 17 interceptions when he was pulled from the game against the Chiefs, as his play had suffered with the injuries. Why is a player who lost velocity on his throws and has more interceptions than passing touchdowns starting?
Either way, the questions won’t stop, especially if Manning underperforms and Osweiler remains on the bench as he enters free agency. Since then, the Broncos offense has spluttered into gear, sometimes looking good and at other times, looking like the Cleveland Browns.

Wide receiver Demaryius Thomas also added that he always believed in Manning: “I knew he still had it, it was a matter of giving him an opportunity to get healthy”.
