Israeli troops killed two Palestinians and severely wounded another on Thursday after the three allegedly tried to stab soldiers in the West Bank, the Israeli army said.

Aegean, who identified the Arab passengers as Israeli, called the incident “unfortunate” and thanked the two passengers for their cooperation.

Another alleged attempted stabbing took place outside of Hebron just a few short hours later, the army said.

Four Palestinians were shot dead by Israeli forces in the West Bank overnight after two separate attempted knife attacks, Israel said.

He was later named as Khalil Shalalda, 16, also from Sair.

Two Arab-Israeli passengers on an Aegean Airlines flight from Greece to Israel were removed from the aircraft before takeoff after Israeli passengers objected to their presence on Tuesday.

The first attack occurred at Gush Etzion Junction, the scene of many similar recent incidents.

According to the Palestinian Information Center (PIC), local sources in Seir affirmed that all main entrances to the town were closed this Friday morning, while a military checkpoint was erected north of the town.

Nearly daily stabbings, car-rammings and shooting attacks by Palestinians have killed 21 Israelis and a US citizen since the start of October, raising fears of a wider escalation a decade after the last Palestinian uprising subsided. Others have been killed in clashes with Israeli forces. The surge in violence has been fueled by Palestinians’ frustration over Israel’s 48-year occupation of land they seek for an independent state, and the expansion of settlements in those territories which were captured by Israel in the 1967 Middle East war.
