And the virtual reality headset is shipping in March!
If you decide you fancy an Oculus Rift you’ll get quite a bit of kit for your cash. In April, the headset will become available at select retailers.

Well, that changes now. Supporters who pledged enough money for the development edition of the Rift will receive a free headset.
Most gamers had expected the VR to have a budget price, but the founder, Palmer Luckey, took to Twitter to try to manage the expectation of the players.
Despite the expensive price tag attached to the Oculus Rift, consumers should understand the fact that this headset is the first fully-functioning, gaming-centric device in the market today.
Orders can be made on Oculus’ official website for $599.00 and will see shipment on March 28.
Facebook-owned Oculus announced Wednesday that it’s selling its first consumer virtual-reality headset, Rift, for $599.
While the cost and system requirements seem steep for the Rift, Luckey says the headset is selling better than expected. But the whole package will include the Rift headset, an Oculus Remote, Xbox One controller, two virtual reality games and all the necessary cables.
The company also released its recommended specifications for a computer ready to run Oculus Rift experiences.
What the announcement of pre-orders also signals is that Oculus could end up beating the HTC Vive to market after all.
The news comes just a few days after another blog post from Oculus giving details about the Oculus Touch, which are Oculus’ natively-built VR controllers.

Oculus Studios head Jason Rubin went on to argue that his company already has a solution in place for more price-conscious consumers.
