Sony Reveals Bravia `4K HDR’ TVs 2016

As expected, Sony has unveiled new range of Bravia TV, which boasts high dynamic range video.
The company said the technology was unique to Sony.
Sony is also expanding its selection of 4K LCD TVs with HDR, expanding the capabilities of its wireless multiroom-audio products, and launching what is likely the industry’s first USB turntable to convert songs on vinyl to high-res music files.
Sony will introduce a healthy line-up of 4K TVs in 2016, but the main one announced during its CES press conference is the XD93, and with good reason.
All of Philips’ 2016 4K TVs will feature HDR support, and they even share similar features.
Sony has announced its own 4K HDR television range and a 4K movie streaming app, to challenge the hottest TVs from this year’s CES, including 4K products from Panasonic, LG and Samsung. It did, however, talk up its new 4K HDR logo, which is meant to assure buyers of Bravia TVs that deliver heightened visual quality.
The company is calling all its 4K HDR TVs as 4K HDR Ultra HD, all of which feature ultra-thin bezels, Sony’s Triluminos display, and Google’s Android TV interface.
Sony has continued to opt for its “Slice of Living” hardware aesthetic for the BRAVIA 4K HDR, which seeks to make its product blend seamlessly into consumers’ living rooms with their minimalist design, going for clean, geometric shapes for the complemented by accents in champagne gold and silver.
Available in 55in and 65in screen sizes, the XD93’s Slim Backlight Drive uses a grid-array backlighting system which can boost and dim the backlight to create brighter whites and deeper blacks when combined with Sony’s X-tended Dynamic Range Pro software, producing up to 3x the brightness range of your average LED TV. They have the Android TV smart TV system with voice search and a new Content Bar interface that lets you access apps and other content more directly. “The bottom-tier XBR-X850D will have 55″, 65″, 75″ and 85″ models, the XBR-X930D a 55″ and 65” model, and the XBR-X940D is available at 75 inches.
