Zidane’s first message to Real Madrid players

It’s an important day for me, as I’m sure is the case for everyone, and I’m excited, even more so than when I signed as a player; but that’s to be expected.

Zidane will be Real Madrid‘s fourth coach for the last three years. What I want to do will be clear in the coming days and hopefully against Deportivo on Saturday.

Perez has received his share of criticism for keeping a short leash on managers – Zidane is the club’s 14th manager in 13 years – but Roberto Carlos said he may have finally found his man.

Describing Real as the “best team” in the world, the 43-year-old said that he was ready to take up the challenges ahead and added that he would try his best to bring victories to the club. I’m going to work as hard as I can and to the best of my ability with all the players, and I believe that everything will turn out well.

Zidane took his first Real training session on Tuesday morning but knows the players from his time on the bench under Carlo Ancelotti.

Real Madrid sacking Benitez, was reported to have upset Bale, prompting fresh rumors of Bale returning to the Premier League. “I used to play with him and he is a legend in Real Madrid, I love Real Madrid so I hope he is successful there”.

But Zidane, who joined Madrid In 2001 for a then world record €75million, brushed those aside.

Zidane was not the club’s first choice however, with Spanish football expert Graham Hunter making the stunning claim that they enquired after Pep Guardiola.

And at his unveiling, Zidane said any comparisons between his promotion and that of Guardiola, who achieved instant success after being appointed Barcelona boss in 2008.

They were thrown out of the Copa del Rey for fielding an ineligible player in a tie against Cadiz but are through to the last 16 of the Champions League, where they will face Roma.

Calderon also said Real Madrid will be looking to make some big signings in the summer, with Eden Hazard a possible target.
