Curry remains out but Warriors win

He and James Harden traded baskets all evening, as the Golden State Warriors were able to do something the Rockets couldn’t seem to accomplish: making plays down the stretch.

The lowly Philadelphia 76ers nabbed their third win of the season, never trailing in the second half en route to a 110-105 victory over the Kings in Sacramento.

Stephen Curry sat out with an injured leg as the Golden State Warriors fell to only their second defeat of the season, going down 114-91 to the Dallas Mavericks.

Of course, Jimmy Butler of the Chicago Bulls, who outplayed MVP candidate Paul George last night, has a valid argument for being better than either one of them.

Walton hinted that he may rest Curry again Thursday, a move the erratic Rockets surely won’t object.

The Warriors are so far out in front of the National Basketball Association that they have nearly ensured a playoff berth after 30 games. The Warriors are favorites to win tonight, even though they could be without Curry, so this could be a great opportunity for punters to place a bet with the underdog and see if it works out. “Might have made a little difference”, Dallas guard Devin Harris said.

Brook Lopez collected 24 points, 15 rebounds and four blocked shots, but it was not enough for the Nets, who gave up the game’s final 10 points.

Anthony Davis had 14 points and 15 rebounds for New Orleans, while Ryan Anderson scored 17.

The Warriors looked out of sorts nearly from the beginning with their sharpshooting star watching from the bench in jeans and a black sport coat.

Golden State needed guard Klay Thompson to step up and he had one of his worst nights of the season, going 4-of-15 from the floor for 10 points, his lowest output since November 11. They also have the best record in the league, displaying that their championship run a year ago was not a fluke. Harden did a pretty solid job, scoring 30 points on 19 shots. Curry will be a game-time decision Thursday when the Warriors play at the Houston Rockets. The first two were last season.

“We’ve got every reason to just come out and throw the towel in, but we came out and really stepped up, and that’s huge, and it shows”, Green said.

“Obviously, without him the spacing won’t be as good”. T.J. Warren had 29 points and nine rebounds, and P.J. Tucker scored 22 points. F Harrison Barnes (L ankle sprain), G Leandro Barbosa (L shoulder sprain) and F Kevon Looney (R hip surgery rehab) are not with the team.

“I don’t think Steph Curry got to worry about too much of nothing”, Green, who is in superb form cited after the game, laughing. “We’ve been playing at such a high level, that gets overlooked sometimes”.

Ricky Rubio tied a career high with 17 assists, and Andrew Wiggins scored 17 points on 6-for-17 shooting for the Timberwolves. Walton said, “He wants to be competing”.
