Political pressure: United States expects Pakistan to act against Pathankot attackers
Pakistani Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s office said he spoke by phone Tuesday with Indian counterpart Narendra Modi and told him Pakistan is working on leads and information provided by India to help investigate the attack.

“Sharif assured Modi that his government would take prompt and decisive action against the terrorists”, it added.
The attack at Pathankot base came over a week after Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi paid a surprise two-hour visit to Pakistan on Christmas Day.
The Nation said the claim had “created several problems for Pakistan” and amounted to “a gauntlet thrown down to the Pakistani state”.
USA further asked the other countries to work together so as to destroy all the networks of the terrorists so as to bring justice to those martyred in the Panthankot terrorist attack.
Following Pathankot airbase attack and baseless allegations, Pakistan urged India to remain committed to a sustained dialogue process.
Seven security personnel, including an officer of the National Security Guards (NSG), an IAF Garud commando, and five Defense Services Corps (DSC) personnel, were killed by the terrorists.
The Indian defence minister said that an investigation regarding the attack is underway, and once it is completed then terrorists information will be made public.
As per a report in CNN IBN, airman Sunil Kumar was arrested for passing information about the airbase to a Pakistani woman in 2014. “We can not say right now that all militants are killed”, air force spokeswoman Rochelle D’Silva said. I would note that the government of Pakistan, also publicly and privately condemned this recent attack on the Indian air base.
India once again exposed Pakistan for waging “proxy war” against India. “Security has been tightened”, Rajan Bhagat, the city’s police spokesman, said Monday.
“Pathankot attack is not only a terror attack or an attack on humanity. Especially in light of what we’ve said, an attack on a diplomatic outpost – that needs to be protected”.

The Sena also said that had the Congress been in power today, there would have been demands to strike at Pakistan and avenge the deaths of soldiers, but now nothing is being done about the incident.
